Being Against Capitalism Isn't Enough, Socialist Magazine Argues
Original: Being Against Capitalism Isn’t Enough https:// jacobin.com/2026/10/capitalism -socialism-economy-planning-cooperatives S
Jacobin has published an essay arguing that socialists need more than a critique of capitalism: they need a concrete account of how a socialist economy could actually work and improve ordinary people's lives. The piece discusses alternatives such as economic planning and cooperatives, urging the left to move beyond opposition and offer a practical, workable vision of socialism.
Why now: The left is debating how to move from anti-capitalist rhetoric to concrete economic alternatives.
