Brazilian developer launches free API for minimum wage and INSS calculations
Original: Todo mês de janeiro a mesma coisa: sai a portaria nova do INSS, o salário mínimo muda, e quem mantém... # braziliandevs
A Brazilian developer has released a free, no-key API that calculates salaries updated for the new minimum wage and INSS rules. The tool arrives as Brazil's annual January changes take effect: a new INSS ordinance is published and the minimum wage is adjusted, forcing developers and companies to update payroll systems every year. The developer shared it openly with the tech community as an open-source resource, and it is being discussed among Brazilian software developers.
Why now: The annual January changes to Brazil's minimum wage and INSS rules create recurring work for developers, making a free calculation API immediately useful.
