Jewish Green Party chair may quit over Zionism motion
Original: Jewish Greens chair says she could leave party over 'Zionism is racism' motion https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm4g1
The chair of the Jewish Green Party has said she could leave the party after a motion describing Zionism as racism was put forward for debate. Her warning has sparked discussion inside and beyond the Greens about antisemitism, the party's direction, and how it handles debates over Israel and Palestine. Supporters of the motion and critics continue to clash over whether the language is legitimate political criticism or discriminatory.
Why now: An internal Green Party dispute over Israel-related language has raised accusations of antisemitism and threatens a senior figure's membership.
