Original: @ kladtiator @ dielinke @ dielinke_hannover @ spdbt @ GrueneBundestag @ sven_giegold # climate # transformation # energy
A debate on climate policy, energy transformation and the shift away from fossil fuels such as oil and gas is unfolding in Germany, with critics tagging the Left Party, the SPD parliamentary group, the Green parliamentary group and politician Sven Giegold. One comment accuses the Union parties of being ready to give in quickly on the issue, reflecting sharp partisan tensions over the pace of Germany's energy transition.
Why now: Ongoing political disputes in Germany over climate targets and phasing out fossil fuels are prompting active argument between party supporters.
