Mitsotakis: EU defence cooperation must respect member states' security
Original: PM Mitsotakis: EU Defence Cooperation Requires Unconditional Respect for Member States' Security
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said EU defence cooperation can only move forward with unconditional respect for the security concerns of individual member states. His remarks underline Greece's insistence that national security priorities, notably its own, must be safeguarded within any joint European defence framework.
Why now: Ongoing EU debates over joint defence initiatives are prompting member states to stake out their national red lines.
