Enes Kanter Freedom vows to keep defending women's sports
Original: ENES KANTER FREEDOM: I know the price of silence and won't stop defending women's sports
NBA center Enes Kanter Freedom has penned an op-ed declaring he will not stop speaking out in defense of women's sports, saying he knows 'the price of silence.' The piece continues his pattern of provocative public stances, following earlier activism on human rights in China and Turkey that drew criticism from league figures and foreign governments.
Why now: The former NBA player remains a polarizing commentator whose statements on cultural and political issues reliably spark debate.
