Ukrainian librarians are sharing their experiences of working through the war, describing how libraries have remained open as places of knowledge, support and hope even under threat. One account sums up the sentiment: nobody knows what tomorrow will bring, but as long as people need knowledge and support, the library must be there for them. The testimonies highlight the role of libraries in preserving cultural heritage and sustaining communities during the Russian invasion.

Why now: Ongoing interest in how Ukrainian cultural workers keep institutions alive amid the war.
