A computer science professor's observation that Formula 1 is becoming more about software than engines and tyres has drawn agreement online. Commenters note the sport's growing reliance on code, data and simulation, echoing a broader shift in motorsport where software capability increasingly determines performance alongside traditional engineering.
Why now: The observation resonates because Formula 1's performance is visibly shifting from mechanical engineering toward software and data-driven development.
