Gaza children killed by unexploded ordnance in rubble

Original: The toy that wasn't a toy: Gaza children face scattered Israeli UXOs | Al Mayadeen English https:// english.almayadeen.n

Unexploded Israeli ordnance scattered beneath Gaza's rubble is killing and maiming children who mistake munitions for toys while playing among the ruins. Reports say clearance efforts fall far short of the scale of contamination left by months of bombardment, leaving families warning children about unfamiliar metal objects. Aid groups have long warned that unexploded remnants of war would pose a deadly legacy long after active fighting.

Why now: Children continue to be killed or injured by leftover munitions as attention stays on Gaza's humanitarian situation
