A developer who could not reach GitHub's trending page rebuilt their own digest using the GitHub Search API, and says the results showed suspicious repositories: four repos containing only 2 KB README files, one gaining 100 stars in four seconds, and a shared PowerShell loader URL across them. The pattern points to coordinated star manipulation, possibly distributing malware. The claims have not been independently verified.
