Brewers hand May Game 3 start in potential closeout
Original: Despite tough stretch drive, May gets Game 3 nod in closeout scenario for Crew
The Milwaukee Brewers have named May as their Game 3 starter despite a rough stretch of outings down the regular-season stretch drive, putting him on the mound in a scenario where a win would close out the series. The decision reflects the club's confidence that the right-hander can rebound after an uneven finish to the season, with observers weighing the risk of riding a struggling arm in a pivotal playoff spot.
Why now: The Brewers are in a playoff series and can eliminate their opponent in Game 3, making the pitching choice a talking point.
