Italy said to be first country to ban lab-grown meat
Original: BREAKING: Italy became the first country to ban Bill Gates’ “artificial meat” project.. Kudos to the Italians..
Posts claim Italy has become the first country to ban lab-grown, so-called 'artificial' meat, with the ban framed as a rejection of a project backed by Bill Gates. The claim is being shared with praise for Italy's decision. Italy's government did move to prohibit lab-grown meat, and supporters of Gates and of cultivated food argue the 'Gates project' framing is misleading, so reactions are split.
Why now: The food ban touches ongoing debates over Bill Gates, food technology and national sovereignty, driving strong engagement.
