38th Blessing Teddy Bear Clinic introduces children to medicine
Original: 38th Blessing Teddy Bear Clinic teaches children about the medical field
The Blessing Health System held its 38th annual Teddy Bear Clinic, an event where children bring their teddy bears to be 'treated' while learning about medical care. The hands-on format is designed to ease children's fears of doctors and hospitals and spark early interest in health careers. Organizers say the long-running clinic remains a popular way to teach kids about the medical field.
Why now: The annual community event is drawing local attention for teaching children about healthcare in a friendly, hands-on way.
