Hegseth says Trump 'hell-bent' on stopping Iranian nuclear weapons
Original: Trump is 'hell-bent and determined' on preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons: Hegseth
US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said President Donald Trump is 'hell-bent and determined' to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. The remarks reaffirm the administration's hard line on Tehran's nuclear programme and signal continued pressure, diplomatic or otherwise, on Iran not to develop an atomic bomb.
Why now: Tensions over Iran's nuclear programme remain a live foreign policy issue and a senior US official has just publicly underscored the president's stance.
