Kyiv skies under attack as capital becomes frontline city
Original: ❗️The skies over Kyiv have been captured. The capital has become a frontline city
Reports and commentary circulating online claim that drones and missiles now dominate the skies over Kyiv, with the Ukrainian capital increasingly described as a frontline city. The claim reflects the escalation of Russian air strikes against the city and its defences. Reaction is intense, with many expressing alarm that the war has moved directly over the capital and debating what this means for Ukraine's air defence and the course of the conflict.
Why now: Ongoing Russian air attacks on Kyiv are driving concern that the capital is now directly on the war's frontline.
