Melendi's blunder on La Voz: turning away a familiar face
Original: la voz
Spanish singer Melendi made an on-air mistake during 'La Voz', rejecting a contestant without recognising they were a well-known face. He later expressed regret about the moment, saying 'it pains me a lot'. The exchange is drawing attention to how the show's blind format can lead coaches to pass on contestants they later wish they had chosen.
Why now: A popular coach's public mistake on a top-rated Spanish TV show is generating discussion and coverage.
