Google Japan has revealed its latest novelty Gboard concept: a keyboard where the keys sit on four conveyor belts that slide horizontally, positioning the desired key under your fingers. The 3D-printable design, equipped with 29 keys across the belts, follows Google Japan's tradition of playful annual Gboard gimmicks, and tech watchers are reacting to its absurd but working engineering.

Why now: It is a newly announced, quirky hardware concept from Google Japan, and its outlandish design makes it prime material for tech discussion.
