IRGC adviser says no US vessels in Persian Gulf or Hormuz
Original: No US vessels in Persian Gulf, Hormuz, or northern Indian Ocean: IRGC adviser
An adviser to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that no US vessels are present in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, or the northern Indian Ocean. The claim, carried by regional media, comes amid ongoing tensions between Tehran and Washington over naval activity and shipping security in the strategic waterway, through which much of the world's oil passes.
Why now: It is a provocative claim about US naval absence in a strategic waterway amid heightened Iran-US tensions.
