Flydubai co-pilot who attacked captain was fired by Oman Air over radical views
Original: The co-pilot who attacked the commanding captain on the Flydubai flight en route to Tel Aviv from Dubai had flown for Om
Sources say the Flydubai co-pilot who attacked the commanding captain on a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv had previously flown for Oman Air and was dismissed after being linked to what were considered radical views. The report raises questions about how he was later hired and cleared to fly, and about airline screening of cockpit crews on international routes.
Why now: A violent cockpit attack linked to previously flagged extremist views raises urgent questions about airline vetting and flight security.
