Ho Chi Minh City adapts as floods worsen with climate change

Original: # Vietnam Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City is learning to live with floods but climate change has raised the stakes Ho Chi Min

Ho Chi Minh City is learning to live with regular flooding, as high tides on the Saigon River and smaller waterways routinely inundate roads and businesses. The city has long adapted to these conditions, but rising seas and more intense weather driven by climate change are raising the stakes, putting greater pressure on infrastructure and low-lying neighbourhoods across Vietnam's largest city.

Why now: Rising climate threats to a major economic hub are drawing fresh attention to its long-running flood struggle.
