Koopmeiners fielded at centre-back as Netherlands win but doubts remain

Original: teun koopmeiners

Juventus midfielder Teun Koopmeiners was deployed at centre-back by Netherlands coach Xavi Simons' staff in the Nations League, and scored against Serbia, but the experiment drew mixed reviews. Reports say the goal boosted his confidence after a difficult spell at Juventus, yet observers insist the defensive role is not his long-term future. Separately, AS Roma are reported to still hold interest in the struggling midfielder.

Why now: Koopmeiners scored for the Netherlands while playing out of position, renewing debate about his form and Roma's transfer interest
