A social media post is criticizing the world's religious leaders for never organizing a funeral wake or collective memorial for the millions who died in the COVID-19 pandemic. The author thanks doctors and nurses instead and invites readers to pour one out for lost friends, tapping into lingering grief over unacknowledged pandemic deaths.
Why now: Pandemic grief remains raw and the absence of any official religious mourning ritual still angers people.
