Cornell president pledges 'serious look' at fraternities after allegations
Original: Rest easy everyone - they're not just "taking steps", they're going to have a "serious look at fraternities" too. Phew.
Cornell's president has vowed a "serious look at fraternities" following allegations, alongside earlier pledges to "take steps" in response. Critics are mocking the university's language, saying a review and vague promises fall far short of meaningful action and dismissing the response as reassurance without substance. The remarks, reported by The Guardian, have drawn skepticism on social media.
Why now: People are responding to a university leadership response they see as weak and dismissive amid serious allegations against fraternities.
