Film fans question the point of another remake despite Willem Dafoe

Original: There isn't much point in a remake unless it brings something new to the table and/or gives Willem Dafoe space to go off

The verdict: the new material feels underdeveloped and unnecessary, leaving the reviewer asking why the film was made at all.

Why now: Remake fatigue and debate over whether new versions justify themselves is a recurring flashpoint among film fans.

• There isn't much point in a remake unless it brings something new to the table and/or gives Willem Dafoe space to go off. The problem here is all the new stuff is so completely under baked. Why bother? # film # review # letterboxd https:// letterboxd.com/joewells/film/n… · joewells · 1
