Air quality permits approved for generators to power Meta
Original: Air quality permits OK’d for generators to power Meta
Air quality permits have been approved for generators intended to supply power to a Meta facility. The decision allows the company to run diesel or similar backup and supplemental generators, a move that typically draws scrutiny from residents and environmental groups concerned about local emissions and pollution. Details on the exact location, generator capacity, and any conditions attached to the permits were not included in the initial report.
Why now: People are debating the environmental cost of powering Meta's growing data centre operations.
