Dead fish in Caen harbour and school blockades hit the city
Original: caen
Caen is in the news for two stories. Nearly one hundred dead fish have been found in the city's port, raising questions about water quality. Separately, high school blockades in Caen have led to thirteen arrests, with judicial proceedings under way. One student described spending twenty hours in police custody, saying he did not understand what he was doing there.
Why now: Local concerns over pollution in the port and the judicial fallout from school blockades are driving attention in the region.
