skipper butterfly

Social media users across gardening communities are posting photos of butterflies visiting their flowers, with one showing a skipper butterfly on a sweet potato flower. The trend crosses language barriers, with hashtags in English, German, French and Spanish, reflecting a loose international network of garden and nature photographers sharing blooms and pollinators.

Wildlife photographers and nature enthusiasts are sharing images of the Small Skipper (Thymelicus sylvestris), a small butterfly belonging to the skipper family Hesperiidae. The posts highlight macro photography of the insect, celebrating its role in summer meadows and drawing attention from the lepidoptera and insect photography communities.
