A new reactive polymer technology has been developed that allows selective laser sintering (SLS) 3D printing of high-temperature amorphous components, a combination previously difficult to achieve with standard polymer powders. The advance could expand additive manufacturing into demanding applications such as aerospace and defense parts that must withstand elevated temperatures, where conventional SLS materials have fallen short.
