pipit

A photographer has shared a distant shot of a Water Pipit, a small bird that spends the winter on British shores before returning to continental mountains to breed. Nature watchers are sharing the image as an example of the seasonal visitors passing through the UK's wetlands and coastal areas at this time of year.

A Japanese nature blogger has published a new post describing a pipit (binsui) descending into a rural village, sharing the sighting with fellow birdwatchers online. The short entry appears on a personal wildlife-watching blog and is being passed around among nature enthusiasts in the fediverse. It is a small seasonal birdwatching note rather than major news, but local birders are noting the visit.
