A study evaluating fifteen exotic groundnut varieties in northern Cameroon found clear trade-offs between grain yield and nutritional quality, meaning varieties that produce the most seed are not necessarily the most nutritious. The findings matter for regional breeding programmes seeking varieties that improve both smallholder incomes and diets in a zone where groundnut is a key crop for food security.
