A 22-patient phase 2 trial found that adding sitagliptin, a common diabetes medication, to the chemotherapy combination gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel produced a 36.4% response rate in pancreatic cancer patients. Laboratory work points to a possible resistance mechanism, but researchers caution the uncontrolled single-center study cannot establish any survival benefit.
