dolphin calf

Researchers report that a dolphin calf began imitating its mother's shell-hunting technique just minutes after observing her use it. The quick learning suggests dolphins can pick up foraging skills rapidly through watching others, adding to evidence of social learning in the species. The behavior, described in science coverage, is drawing attention for how closely it mirrors teaching-like learning seen in primates.
