celosia

A White Peacock butterfly (Anartia jatrophae) has been photographed perching on the bright magenta flower spike of a wheat celosia (Celosia spicata) plant. The species is a resident across the Neotropics, Central America, the Caribbean, South Texas and Florida, and the striking colour contrast between the pale wings and deep pink blooms is drawing attention from nature and insect photography enthusiasts.

The popular gardening channel Garden Answer has shared a project turning statice and celosia flowers grown in its own garden into a dried flower arbor. The walkthrough shows how the blooms are dried and arranged into a decorative structure, drawing a large audience of home and garden enthusiasts who are praising the colorful, long-lasting result.
