A new report from the UC Berkeley Labor Center examines how bossware — software that monitors and manages workers through digital surveillance — is spreading among California employers. It details the impact of algorithmic management on workers' privacy, autonomy and working conditions, and argues that state and federal policymakers need new regulations to rein in these workplace monitoring technologies.
