Russian company ZNTC has completed development of the country's first domestically made 130nm lithography stepper, a machine capable of manufacturing chips at a technology level that international industry leaders moved past roughly 25 years ago. The tool could be used for actual chip production only late this decade or early the next, underscoring how far Russia lags in semiconductor equipment after sanctions cut it off from Western suppliers.
