Wooptix

Spanish startup Wooptix, backed by Samsung, Intel and Tokyo Electron, has installed a WFPI lab system with a major South Korean chipmaker, directly challenging KLA's dominance in wafer metrology. The system targets high-margin packaging chokepoints such as HBM and die-to-wafer bonding, areas critical to advanced memory production. The move signals growing competition in semiconductor inspection equipment as chipmakers seek alternatives to KLA's entrenched position.
