The Swiss company Winduction has developed a system that charges electric buses wirelessly through their tires while they wait at stops. According to the company, this could allow smaller batteries, cutting costs and vehicle weight and creating more space for passengers. The concept is drawing attention as cities look to electrify public transport fleets.
