Harvey Pekar and Gary Dumm's 2008 graphic novel 'Students for a Democratic Society' is being discussed, with readers calling it a congratulatory account of the 1960s activist group. The work highlights SDS's tensions with contemporaries like the Progressive Labor Party, the Black Panthers, the Weathermen and SNCC, though critics note its disjointed, episodic retellings lack a main narrative arc.
