UNOOSA

World Space Week is being marked with a look back at how space cooperation began. After the Soviet Union launched Sputnik in 1957, the United Nations established UNOOSA, the Office for Outer Space Affairs, which has tracked developments ever since, including more than 77 successful lunar missions. The observance highlights how space exploration has moved from rivalry to international collaboration.
