Turkish journalists

A Kurdish journalist has told The Jerusalem Post that his dignity was disregarded during what he describes as abusive treatment while held in Turkish detention. The account adds to ongoing concerns raised by press freedom and human rights groups over the treatment of Kurdish journalists in Turkish custody, where arbitrary arrests and harsh detention conditions have repeatedly been reported.

Turkish authorities have blocked access to a news website, citing 'LGBT propaganda' as the reason. Journalists and press freedom advocates are condemning the move, calling it part of a broader crackdown on independent media and LGBT expression in Turkey. Critics say the blocking decision reflects increasing pressure on outlets covering LGBT issues and shrinking space for free reporting in the country.
