TrailLens

A developer is building TrailLens, an AI-powered tool that identifies plants and leaves offline while users hike or explore nature, as their Hacktoberfest 2026 project. The tool is framed around encouraging people to spend more time outdoors. Early reactions are modest so far, with a small audience picking up the project among open-source and maker communities interested in offline AI applications.
