A photograph from the early 1960s shows jazz pianist Thelonious Monk napping with a Siamese cat at the New Jersey home of his patron, jazz baroness Nica de Koenigswarter. The Weehawken house, which Monk nicknamed 'Catville', was occupied by more than 300 cats, and Nica was also an amateur photographer.
