The song "I've Gotta Be Me" comes from the Broadway musical Golden Rainbow, which starred Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gormé. The show opened at the Shubert Theatre in New York City on February 4, 1968, and closed just under a year later, on January 11, 1969. The tune went on to become a popular standard despite the musical's relatively short run.
