Retterbox

A shopper in France picked up a two-euro 'Retterbox' from supermarket chain Super U, a holiday-edition rescue bag filled with produce otherwise destined for waste. The box contained bananas, potatoes, aubergine, chicorée, an orange, tomatoes, lettuce and light grapes. The purchase highlights the growing popularity of anti-food-waste schemes at French supermarkets, where surplus produce is sold cheaply rather than thrown away.
