Rabindranath Tagore

Rabindranath Tagore, the celebrated Indian poet, barely attended school and never completed a degree, relying instead on private tutors at home and self-directed learning. He went on to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913. Commenters are using his example to question whether formal school, college and university education are truly necessary for success.
