Russian pensioners are in the news as October brings a round of payment increases for several categories, with additional top-ups announced for regions such as Novosibirsk Oblast. The Public Chamber has proposed a one-off payment of 10,000 rubles per pensioner to mark the Day of Older Persons. Media outlets are also warning that some pensioners may be missing out on thousands of rubles in little-publicised benefits paid through the Social Fund of Russia.
