MySpace

The Internet Archive has recovered roughly half a million songs that were thought permanently lost when MySpace wiped user-uploaded music older than two years, erasing much of the early-2000s indie scene. Reactions online mix relief at saving a piece of internet music history with criticism of MySpace for deleting the files without warning.
