Google has signed its largest rice-methane carbon credit agreement with Indian startup Mitti Labs. The four-year deal will cover rice farms across three Indian states, reaching about 100,000 hectares at peak delivery. The project aims to cut methane emissions from rice paddies, a significant source of greenhouse gases, while generating carbon credits that support smallholder farmers.
