Missouri Democrats

Missouri Democrats are raising concerns that anonymous donations are being used to fund the search for the state's next education commissioner. The lawmakers are questioning the transparency of the process, arguing that undisclosed donors could gain improper influence over who leads Missouri's education system. The search for a new commissioner follows the departure of the previous state education chief.

Missouri House Democrats are calling for the search for a new state education commissioner to be publicly funded. The demand, reported by regional media, comes as the state seeks a replacement for the top schools official. Further details about the party's specific objections or the timeline of the vacancy have not been made clear.
