Mahabad

Security forces in Mahabad, in Iran's West Azerbaijan province, have arrested Esmail Sufi Mina, according to the Hana Human Rights Organization. The group reported the detention but provided no details on the reasons for the arrest, his whereabouts, or any charges. Human rights organisations frequently report detentions of Kurdish citizens in the region, and concerns typically focus on due process and access to legal representation.
